Parish Pastoral Council
The St. Francis of Assisi Pastoral Council is an advisory/consultative body appointed and selected by Pastor. (Canon Law 536)
The council advises the Pastor on the pastoral needs of the parish. Decision is made by the pastor after consulting with his council members.
It is composed of volunteer and active parishioners and the Principal of St. Francis of Assisi School. It is led by the Pastor and is responsible for pastoral planning and maintaining the long-range vision of God's ministry for the parish.
Guided by the Mission Statement and a strategic plan (updated annually) the Pastoral Council collaborates with staff members, parishioners, committees, ministries, and organizations to carry out this vision.
Pastoral Council members serve a three-year term.
Three new members are commissioned each year through a discernment process conducted each spring.
The Pastoral Council meets on the 1st Monday of each month.
